by: Michael ZennerPosted on: February 19, 2024February 19, 2024 DINNER / ASIAN / CHICKEN Spicy Gochujang Korean Fried Chicken This pairs well with Blackened Asian Green Beans and Vietnamese Garlic Noodles Instructions Chicken and Marinade Cut up the chicken into bited sized pieces Combine chicken and all of the marinade ingredients into a bowl and mix Put in the fridge to marinate for about an hour Crispy Coating Combine all of the crispy coating ingredients into a mixing bowl Sauce In a medium pot, combine all of the sauce ingredients Set aside for later Cooking the chicken Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet until it reaches 350 degrees Remove the chicken from the fridge Take out one piece at a time and coat with the crispy coating mixture Immediately put in the oil Cook all of the chicken until golden brown Put in the oven on warm Combining Everything Once all the chicken is in the oven keeping warm, heat up the sauce in the pan Simmer until it thickens Take the chicken out of the oven and put into the sauce Gently mix to coat the chicken Enjoy! Ingredients Chicken and Marinade 1 lb chicken breast 1 cup buttermilk 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp garlic salt Crispy Coating 1 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp garlic salt 1/2 tsp celery salt 1 tsp dried thyme 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp red pepper flakes vegetable oil (for deep frying) Sauce 4 tbsp gochujang sauce 4 tbsp honey 8 tbsp brown sugar 8 tbsp soy sauce 4 cloves garlic, minced 2 tsp ginger powder 2 tbsp sesame oil 6 green onions, thinly sliced 2 tbsp red pepper flakes
