by: Michael ZennerPosted on: June 11, 2024June 11, 2024 DINNER / ASIAN / CHICKEN Orange Chicken Instructions Chicken Cube up the chicken Combine salt, pepper, cornstarch and flour in a mixing bowl Add the egg and water and stir until it reaches the consistency of pancake batter Add the chicken to the batter and refrigerate at least 30 minutes Heat vegetable oil in deep skillet or wok to temperature of 350 degrees Add the chicken and deep fry until golden brown and has an internal temperature of 160 degrees Put cooked chicken in the oven on warm Orange Sauce Heat olive oil on medium-high in a pot Add red pepper flakes, ginger and garlic. Cook for 30 seconds Add sugar and brown sugar and stir to combine Add the orange juice and stir until sugar dissolves Add in the vinegar and soy sauce Add the cornstarch and water and whisk to combine Bring to a simmer and cook until sauce is like maple syrup Add in the fried chicken and stir to combine Ingredients Chicken 1.5 lb chicken breast 1 tbsp salt 1 tsp pepper 1 cup cornstarch 3 cup flour 1 egg 1.5 cup water vegetable oil Orange Sauce 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tbsp red pepper flakes 2 garlic cloves, minced 1/2 tsp ginger 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup orange juice 1/4 cup white vinegar 2 tbsp soy sauce 2 tbsp water 2 tbsp cornstarch
