by: Michael ZennerPosted on: April 19, 2025April 19, 2025 DESSERT / AMERICAN Chocolate Chip Date Cake Keep Screen Awake Gallery Instructions Batter Preheat oven to 350 degrees Boil the 1 1/2 cup of water and put in a small bowl Add the chopped dates and 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the water, combine and let cool Combine 1 cup sugar and crisco in a mixing bowl Beat until creamy Add eggs and mix well Add cooled date mixture to creamed mixture and mix well Add all remaining ingredients and mix well Pour batter into a greased 13x9 baking pan Topping Sprinkle chocoloate chips and 1/2 cup sugar freely across the top Baking Bake for 30 minutes Ingredients Batter 1 cup dates, chopped 1 1/2 cup boiling water 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup crisco 2 eggs 3/4 tsp baking soda 2 cup flour 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup chocolate chips, flat Topping 1/2 cup chocolate chips, flat 1/2 cup sugar
